Jim Shockey is a Canadian outdoor writer, professional big game outfitter, and television producer. He is known for producing and hosting the television shows Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures and Jim Shockey’s Uncharted on the Outdoor Channel. With almost three-hundred species hunted in over forty countries, he is considered an expert in the field.
Jim was an All-American swimmer and played on the Canadian national water polo team, participating in the 1978 and 1982 world championships. He is also an expert on the Ethnocentric Folk Art forms from Western Canada with his collections published in Country Living and Century Home.
Jim married actress Louise in 1980 and has two children who have joined in the hunting and entertainment business. He has his own compound bow called the Jim Shockey Signature Series Yukon Bow. In 2014, he won awards at the Sportsman Channel Sportsman Choice Awards and the Outdoor Channel Golden Moose Awards.
